Re: Recipies for P3?
I started out my P3 with adding avocado to my grilled chicken salad and used a wonderful olive oil dressing. I was afraid to try to many things at once for fear of a gain and not knowing why!

New sugar free pumpkin pie recipe!
So, I just made this last night...looks great and the flavor (before baking) was wonderful! Wanted a pumpkin pie I could eat "legally"!!
Nut crust:
6oz pecans
2oz walnuts
2 T sweetner (I used Truvia-about 6 packets)
3-4 T butter
Pulse in food processor till right consistancy.
Pat down in 9 inch pie pan and set aside
Pumpkin Pie:
2 c. pumpkin (I used homeade roasted pumkin)
1 1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup honey
1 T molassas
dash ground cloves
dash nutmeg
1/2 t salt
1 t cinnamin
1 egg
Blend and pour into pie pan.
Bake at 350 for an hour. I actually baked for about 1 hour and 10-15 minutes. (still looked too jiggly).
Turned out great! Looks beautiful and smells great!
You could even make this pie without the crust.

http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/desserts/r/lcarbcheesecake.htm?nl=1 Does this sound P3 friendly?
How does the honey factor in as P3? Don't they count that as a sugar?

The Sugars Police have Busted Ya!
Green is right that honey is considered "sugar".... I spent much of today reading about Alcohol sugars because I just Finally got some Xylitol in the mail today which was about as difficult to get here in France as well um good cheese is in America
Let me see if I can find this link that is a good one to save about alter sugars... some of the really "fake'' ones do have side effects that you might wish to be cognizant of. I personally choose to avoid those. The Sugar Alcohols seem to be more body friendly although if you use too much they claim they can cause gastro intestinal malfunctions... and Gazzzz.z.z.zzzz

this link is about some of the fake sugars vs. the sugar alcohols...

Re: Recipies for P3?
Does this sound like it would work? Could I use whole milk instead of evaporated milk?
Crustless Pumpkin Pie
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ingredients:
1 can pumpkin (15 oz)
1 can evaporated skim milk (12 oz)
3/4 cup egg substitute (or 3 egg whites)
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 C. Splenda (or sugar) or to taste
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.
Pour into a 9" sprayed pie pan
Bake at 400 for 15 minutes, and then at 325 for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Serves 8
Whole Pie: 8 points (or ONE pt. for 1/8 pie)
TIP!
Top this pie with a little fat free Cool-Whip for even more of a treat! Counts as a vegetable serving and high in fiber!
This is the only one that I have.

Re: Recipies for P3?
I just gave Misti these links, but I will put them here as well in case anyone wants/needs them.
A whole menu for thanksgiving that would work for P3...
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/low-carb-thanksgiving-recipes/
Specifically, another pumpkin pie recipe..
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-pies-fill-er-up/
For this one, you can swap out the coconut milk for cream, and use your fave sugar substitute instead of the maple flakes (though they sound divine, don't they??)
And if you are cheap like me, and don't want to use all that coconut oil in the crust LOL...here is another crust option..
Basic ground pecan crust
http://www.recipezaar.com/Ground-Pecan-Crust-Low-Carb-193530
Or, skip the crust altogether, and bake it as a custard--either one big one or in individual ramekins.
HTH!

Re: Recipies for P3?
Now, if you wanted to use this recipe? Change the evap. milk to cream (I would drop it down to 1 cup), use 3 full eggs, and it would be good to go!

Re: Recipies for P3?
You might like to look at my "tried and true" recipes that are great for P3. Now - there are a FEW that will not work for P3, but these are from my Somersizing days and are OH SO GOOD! Every one of them are tested by us and are all keepers. *Ü*
